Now this one is strange. The Seattle Times reported today, that UW alumnus, and multimillionaire, Ed Hansen had offered UW President Mark A. Emmert $100,000 in scholarhisps for the law school for the firing of Tyrone Willingham - and another $100,000 for the firing of AD Todd Turner - in his 1,000+ emails to the school President.
First of all; I think that Tyrone is about as intimidating of a head coach as a kitten. Thanks in part to his 1-2 record in the Apple Cup, the WSU Cougars are living in a wonderful time where the Apple Cup has belonged to the Crimson and Grey for 3 of the last 4 years. But we move on.
Okay, so let’s list the credentials of this nutjob named Ed Hansen:
- multimillionaire lawyer
- former three-term mayor of Everett
- Frontier Bank founder
Okay, so basically what I’m saying here is that this guy seems to at least not be completely retarted. So why the hell, would anyone think that their season ticket package, annual donation, and $100k in scholarships was going to be enough to offset the $1.5million that it would have taken UW to buy out the contract of Tyrone? No wonder President Emmert said that crazy-man Hansen’s e-mails ” as “grossly inappropriate” and “the kind of commentary I don’t take seriously at all.”‘ Come on Ed, if you want to see head roll, you’ve got to at least be willing to chip in little more than that.
