
This is one of those times where this reinforces your opinion one way or another. Either this just confirms your belief system where Football comes first, or it scares you just a little that justice can wait for football.
A judge in Louisiana has agreed to postpone the start of a trial because… well, let the defense argue why this trial should wait:
“All counsel to this matter unequivocally agree that the presence of LSU in the aforementioned contest of pigskin skill unquestionably constitutes good grounds therefor… In fact we have been unable through much imagination and hypothetical scenarios to think of a better reason.”
Not only that, this is the second trial postponed this year in Louisiana because of football; a January trial was delayed because of the Saints playing in the NFC title game.
I must say, I’ve never been in agreement that SEC football is superior to the other conferences like the Pac 10… but I am willing to admit that they take their seriousness for the sport to a totally different level.
