Hey, no sarcasm here. Jay, currently of Right Down Peachtree fame - although many of you might know his name from Sports Gone South - was crowned the champion of Show and Tell with Sean Salisbury, a fantasy baseball league I set up for sports bloggers. Not only did he win, but he won with a grand total of … coun’t ‘em… 2 transactions and seven players listed on the DL… but not DL’d on his roster - meaning that he was playing short 7 players. It takes some special drafting to pull something like that off, so believe me I am completely amazed at the performance. And I didn’t even mention the fact that he was a 6-seed and had to pull off upsets three rounds in a row to win.
And I probably shouldn’t leave BD from Sports Shows on Mute - and now mainly Epic Carnival - for his second place finish. He still beat out 10 other sports bloggers so he deserves at least a little credit for that.
Initially I had promised a certain picture taken of a certain ESPN talent on his cellphone.. but I decided instead to delete the picture and destroy the computer it was on. Trust me… that’s way better. I think it was the picture which was to blame for so many of the competing blogs dropping off the face of the Earth. Think I’m exaggerating? Take a look:
- Sports Gone South - Jay Busbee took his talents to Right Down Peachtree
- Sports Shows on Mute - Last post: July, 15. BD now writing for Epic Carnival
- Hurricanes are for Drinking - Site disappeared completely
- Donkey Carnival - Last post: May, 24. Status unknown
- Just Call Me Juice - Marco has packed his shit and moved off to Storming The Floor
So maybe know you understand why the picture had to be destroyed… which leaves me with another problem: no reward for the victors. So I’ll leave it up to them for now to let me know what they want: free posts on my site, for me to write a post about how incredibly talented they are and how awesome their sites are, etc.
I don’t know what to do.. but after 26 weeks I feel like I should at least do something…

I guess blogging is all about short attention spans. Lasting a whole year is a pretty big deal…
For what it’s worth, and I’m biased, Storming the Floor is a pretty good move for Marco. It is going to rock, and is, in fact, currently rocking.

Ooops.
Didn’t mean to insinuate all the moves were negative; in the cases of most - like with Marco - they are actually moving onward and upward

I still cannot believe I lost. If I had realized a little earlier that the final was two weeks instead of one that may have helped. But, I was winning at the end of the first week so it’s a split. Really…
I agree STF is going to rock, it already good and the season hasn’t even started.
