Ummm, I Think This Dude Is Sending Mixed Messages

How Much You Think This Guy Could Fetch?Keeping with the whole Michigan - Notre Dame game which is certainly going to be a debacle, here’s a story that just makes me ask a few questions.

Pastor Chad McCallum is a former season ticket holder at the Big House and his wife is Michigan alumni and the two have been Michigan fans… up until now. The Pastor has decided to auction his allegiance to the highest bidder.

“I am done with Michigan,” he writes. “With Lloyd Carr. With the level of arrogance that is obvious at the Big House. I am open to any team of your choosing (Division I, II, III and NAIA).”

Do I think it’s weak sauce to auction off your allegiance after only two losses in 2007? Of course I do. But here’s the irony in all of this. Here is a man of the cloth, someone who has dedicated his life to a firm belief in religion… drops his “faith” in his football team in less than a month, and is now willing to sell his “soul” (or allegiance) for cold hard cash. Yes the cash will be donated, but am I the only one who thinks that this is comparable to someone from PETA selling lucky rabbits feet?
