STSS is the social experiment known as Show and Tell with Sean Salisbury in which 12 sports bloggers compete in fantasy baseball for all of the imaginary fame and glory that comes with being the best at something not entirely real]
Some versions are timely and informative. Others are weeks overdue and reek of poor writing. This is the latter.
Thus far, we have completed nine full weeks of the experiment pitting blogger against blogger in a ruthless, yet imaginary, battle of baseball superiority. Previously, it seemed that FanIQ was destined to run away with the league title so early that an Amber Alert had to be made. After the alert, the league is now split by 29 games from first to worst, but keeping in mind that in each week 16 games are at stake nothing is even close to being settled.
There’s been some moves in the league and little bit of roster shuffling, and a lot of shuffling in the standings. Let’s take a look at the updated standings, shall we?
| Team Name | Website | Winning % | Games Back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toss Me The Bat Delmon! | Sports Show On Mute | .594 | - |
| Pine Tar Junkies | Signal to Noise | .573 | 3 |
| FanIQ | FanIQ | .566 | 4 |
| Pullman Sofa Kings | Seal Clubbers | .535 | 8.5 |
| WBRS Sports Blog | WBRS Sports Blog | .535 | 8.5 |
| Donkey Carnival | Donkey Carnival | .486 | 15.5 |
| BigFuckingPileofShit | Hurricanes are for Drinking | .479 | 16.5 |
| Just Call Me Juice | Just Call Me Juice | .472 | 17.5 |
| Sports Gone South | Sports Gone South | .465 | 18.5 |
| The Sports Flow | The Sports Flow | .458 | 19.5 |
| One More Dying Quail | One More Dying Quail | .444 | 21.5 |
| Boulder Bongjockeys | Run Up The Score | .420* | 29 |
*Actually, it’s .392, but the simple fact that the Boulder Bongjockeys had a .420 winning percentage at some point was too good to pass up so they will forever here be shown with a winning percentage of .420. Lame? A bit. But I gotta do what I gotta do.
The experiment is going so well in fact, that I have considered extending the challenge into the football season, and possibly hockey and basketball (although there’s no way I’m going to be the “host” of all that crap). So if anyone would be interested in extending the challenge let me know.
