Its Not Sid The Kid… But Could It Be Enough?

May 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

durant.jpgWell, the Pacific Northwest was officially made the luckiest place to have an NBA franchise; the Portland Trail Blazers won the first pick in the draft and the Seattle Supersonics got the second… which is like the Saints second overall picks two years ago where all they have to do is take the guy that falls to them.

The reason why I say its not Sid the Kid but might be enough is, if you remember back to two whole years ago and earlier this year, the Pittsburgh Penguins were on the verge of leaving Pittsburgh because they could not get an arena deal done. Well, welcome Sidney Crosby and a few other young and talented players and all of the sudden Pittsburgh was looking at an up and coming dynasty that they were about to let go. Long story short they did cave and the Penguins got what they wanted.

So, now likely to start the season with Kevin Durant on the roster and a chance to put together a young and talented squad, do the Sonics have enough of a bargaining chip to get a deal done?
