37-7: Margin of victory in which Cal Rugby secured only their 22nd collegiate championship since 1980. It’s also their 4th in a row.
$15.1 million: Shaun Alexander’s salary, who revealed to reporters that his foot isn’t healed but its of no concern to him. Hopefully this is Shaun’s idea of a joke, but you never know after last season when he said that Jesus healed him yet X-rays still revealed damage.
28%: of white baseball fans are cheering for Barry Bonds to break Hank Aaron’s record, while about 75% of black fans are doing the same. Is this just another meaningless race survey a la the NBA ref survey from last week? Most definitely.
77 %: That’s the total percentage of fans who were rooting against Hank Aaron to break the home run record. Bond’s totals are only 52% against; at least one of those is Hank Aaron himself.
1,453 strikeouts: This is the pace being set by the Florida Marlins, who have a great chance at making history here, but as Florida first baseman Mike Jacobs points out, “If we’re putting up numbers, what’s the difference if we’re striking out a lot?”
7.4%: … or I suppose 92.6% if you are a Red Wings fan. Those are the Sharks’ power play and Red Wings penalty kill percentages in their second round matchup. And actually, since San Jose was 1-1 in Game 1, that means they went 1-26 in games 2-6… a paltry 3.85% on the PP for the team who finished 3rd in the regular season converting on 22.4% of the time with the extra attacker.
7-0: Josh Beckett’s record for the Red Sox this year after winning today. The Sox weren’t kidding when they said they didn’t need Clemens.

“at least one of those is Hank Aaron himself.”
At least?
actually, JUST one of those is Hank Aaron himself, unless he has some sort of replicating ability, in which case his mutant cheating is AT LEAST at bad as using the juice.

hmmmm. Yea, poor choice going with “at least one”. This has to be my most half-assed day of posting in quite some time.
