This is exactly why people hate the Yankees:

Florida Marlins Payroll: $30.5 million
Cost of Roger Clemens to the New York Yankees (includes luxury tax): $28 million
Tampa Bay Devil Rays Payroll: $24.1 million

You can’t blame Roger though… cannot blame Roger. If someone is willing to pay you an obscene amount of money to play part of a season… you’d take the deal… and so would I. But considering the bad luck with injuries the Yanks have been having over the past two years, I must come to the conclusion that the team is either cursed, or being smote by divine powers. There are numerous ways in which this could go wrong for the Texan ace… although I don’t think he is going to pull a Freddy Garcia and run into a cart, but really there is just no telling how or when he will go down.

Let’s just hope he has Aflac.
