An angry soccer mom who left her teenage daughter alongside an interstate was ticketed for neglect, Lincoln police said Tuesday. Police spokeswoman Katherine Finnell confirmed this account from police reports:

The 42-year-old Lincoln mom was miffed about her daughter’s poor play on Saturday.

What happened to the good ol’ days when parents just got drunk like Randy Marsh and brawled? Or how about assaulting a referee or two? But leaving your kid on the side of the road is definitely not the message you want to be sending to your kids, and is miles away from “you tried your best” and “winning isn’t everything”. Good job mom… and I’m setting the odds at 8:3 that girl winds up with issues when she grows up, with the over under at 23 being the official age it kicks into full gear.
