Damn, check out the big mouth on Brady, who in an interview, decided to tell people that he can rebuild any team.. pretty much a direct reference to the top three picks in the draft: Oakland, Detroit and Cleveland… all who could probably use a QB.
Brady Quinn already has taken a down-and-out football team and turned it around. He figures he can do it again.
That’s why the Notre Dame quarterback believes he is highly qualified to immediately help a troubled NFL franchise — and why he should be the first Fighting Irish player taken with the opening pick in the NFL draft in 35 years.
“JaMarcus obviously is a big kid with a strong arm. But I’m a big kid with a strong arm and much more,” he said. “I’m not as big as him. I’m a little leaner. But I’ve played four years, started the past four years and been through a lot.”
So now we are supposed to evaluate draft picks based on the drama they have been through? I am sure that if they were casting for an NFL reality show, that might hold some weight. But this is the NFL and no one cares about how much you’ve gone through, they just want to know if you can get the job done. And after watching Brady play against Michigan, USC, LSU etc… I am quite skeptical. Furthermore, JaMarcus is not being projected number one just because he is a big kid with a strong arm. No NFL team is that narrow sighted… although if there is one it would be Oakland. What I hate most about Brady’s comments, are that at the same time he is saying that he can lead a turnaround and is the ultimate team leader, inherently those comments also serve to downplay the role of the other 21 starters for Notre Dame and their roles in the rebuilding… which of course does not really explain this statement:
“Every guy on our football team is more prepared for the NFL than a lot of other places because of coach Weis.”
I’m sorry, but if every guy on the team is better prepared for the NFL, that kind of suggests that Quinn had no significant role in Notre Dame’s success, because he was surrounded by NFL caliber players (his words, not mine). I am really confused now, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that Brady Quinn is this year’s Aaron Rodgers/ Matt Leinart… and if the NFL draft is not long enough, its only gong to get longer when they keep showing Brady’s dejected face as he gets passed over pick by pick.

Give the guy a break. You have to have a certain level of confidence in order to be a successful leader. I wonder where your comments will be five years from now as Brady leads the Browns deep into the playoffs?

you are reading way too much into his comments. i mean come on, “Quinn had no significant role in Notre Dame’s success, because he was surrounded by NFL caliber players” what the hell? he’s the QB. of course he plays a significant role. you have to have confidence in yourself and then he was just giving props to his coach. and that’s it.
[P.S.-he will do great things with the browns & he is sexy. lol.]
