Did’t Nebraska Used To Be Good?

cf111704b.JPGI thought I remembered something like that. But the program seems to be about as unlucky as it is bad, and lost one of their running backs, who was already out of spring recovering from a staph infection, to a broken leg.

Callahan said Cornhusker running back Kenny Wilson, who was a junior last season, broke his leg a few days ago and has undergone surgery in Omaha.

“The other night, Kenny sustained an injury while moving a television set and seemingly broke his femur,” Callahan said. “Our hearts go out - prayers go out - for Kenny as he tries to rehab through a real tough injury.”

Callahan said Wilson will most likely miss the 2007 campaign, though the team is optimistic the running back will qualify for a redshirt. Wilson was already expected to miss most of the spring season recovering from a staph infection in his leg.

I don’t know. If you have that many medical mishaps, do you really think football is the sport for you? This is either nature’s way of telling you that you need to quit, or its repayment from their 1997 co-championship that someone had to have arranged with the devil for.
