So for reasons I still do not understand, soccer fans get riled up. Riled up so much so that in Greece one man bit another man’s ear off. It can’t possibly be because of the food.. I have had pitas and man there is no way I’d go hungry in Greece, so that’s out.

Four men have been arrested on the island of Crete after part of a man’s ear was bitten off during a brawl after Greece’s 4-1 loss to Turkey in a European Championship qualifier.

The fight apparently started after the Bulgarian men cheered Turkey’s goals.

Honestly. If you live in Greece you should be used to losing, since you really haven’t won anything major since the Trojan War.

Now for the other part, which I can’t explain.. so don’t ask me.

PULLMAN, Wash. - A man was charged with theft and burglary after police said they found 93 pounds of women’s panties, brassieres and other underwear at his home.

Investigators believe Garth M. Flaherty, 24, took as many as 1,500 undergarments from apartment complex laundry rooms before he was caught, police Cmdr. Chris Tennant said.

Okay. So I live in Pullman, and my fiancee did note the sign on our laundry room says to watch out for underwear thieves. I honestly just chalked it up to underpants gnomes. Stealing underpants is big business:

1. Collect underwear
2. ???
3. Profit!

It would seem that Garth did not figure out step two.

But my honest reaction to all that: I can barely find room for all of my own crap… let alone 93 pounds of extra clothing! I want to know where that guy lived, because for one, it must be spacious; and two, it’s just a hunch but I’m guessing it might be up for lease soon.

I wonder how the laundry facilities are…
