Finishing up my reporting on the RBS 7 Nations tournament, and France barely pulled out the tournament win over Ireland, who came out on St. Patrick’s Day and beat up Italy Ron Artest style, winning the match 51-24. But it was not enough to hold off the French, who won the tournament based on point differential. It would have made a much better story if the Irish could have won yesterday, but I suppose now somewhere in the heavens St. Patrick is nursing a Guinness and shedding a tear for what could have been.
