Busy day in the NFL, very busy day that saw Drew Bledsoe cut from the Cowboys (no surprise there), but strangely a day or so after the news about the HGH ring connected to the Steelers Joey Porter gets cut? Seems like an odd move, unless Steelers management knows something we don’t.

The other big move was the Lions-Broncos trade, where the Lions just got to justify drafting Calvin Johnson by plugging a few other holes despite losing a good cover corner in Dre Bly. This is still a strange time of year for me, I still have yet to accept the current state of the NFL where players come and go (baseball too for that matter, but not quite so extreme). I grew up watching Joe Montana and Steve Young play for the 49ers. True seeing Joe in a Chiefs uni was just terrible, but all the same in today’s NFL Joe would have been out of San Francisco after his second Super Bowl and there is no way the 49ers and Cowboys mini-dynasties would have happened with the current cap.

But now Joey Porter is out on the street, and that is not good for the citizens of Pennsylvania.
