There’s been some stuff going on here and there this week. Dominick Rhodes got himself a nice DUI to go along with his new Super Bowl ring, and Pacman Jones happened to be at the post NBA All Star game shoot out. Its all bad stuff, but it pales in comparison to two men: Jonathan Babineaux and Tim Hardaway.

Everyone by now knows that Tim Hardaway hates gay people, even though he apologized later because of how sorry he was that the comments messed up the plans he had for the weekend. Yep, Hardaway is a total bigot, something that I can’t say I’m shocked at… what I’m shocked at were two things: 1) the lack of common sense to keep your trap shut when that is your opinion and 2) how cool, calm and collected he seemed when he said it. He was in no way even trying to back out of what he said. He said it and was proud of it.

I for one, hate what Tim Hardaway said, but am glad he said it. Its a totally close-minded viewpoint, but its his honest viewpoint, and let’s face it, Hardaway is no scholar, politician, or moral authority: he’s a guy. A guy with an f***’d up view point about people different from him. But I get sick and tired about how PC we make everyone be. I’d much rather have athletes, politicians and, well, everyone speak their minds rather than worry about offending someone. There is really no way to make progress until you lay it all out on the table and have a discussion, but we have too many whiners in this country who get offended by the color of socks you wore today (you can’t wear black socks with brown shoes…), so we can never make any progress ’cause someone is always going to be there to shut them up and make them retract and apologize. Tim, you may be a total waste of space, but grow a pair, own your thoughts and put them out there. You can’t make an omelet without breaking a few shells…

Now that I have gotten past that mini-rant, its to the meat of the post, and although it is still not proven, I say Jonathan Babineaux is a complete bag of douche (man, maybe I need to make this a weekly segment or something… douchebaggery of the week). Babineaux is being accused of hitting a dog in the head, which was then pronounced to be the eventual cause of death. The defensive lineman got in a fight with a dog… a 6′2″ 286 pound beast of a man probably hit a dog and killed it, and I seriously hope that if the Atlanta Falcons want to make an example out of someone (or the NFL for that matter), that they do something and do it quick. In a week where bashing Tim Hardaway has become as routine as showering, Jonathan Babineaux went ahead and made him look like a saint. Way to go Jonathan, I think Timmy owes you a little thank you… unless of course you are gay and then my guess is that he wants you kicked out of the country.
