Since this is America, rugby union and its tournaments are not exactly celebrated events. But this weekend marks the halfway point of the RBS 6 Nations tournament.
The biggest news has been the return of Jonny Wilkinson, arguably the best rugby player in the world. He’s been out with a string of injuries lasting since the 2003 Rugby World Cup. With Jonny back, England has won their first two games, also two of their easier games: Scotland and Italy.
Normally I wouldn’t pay all that much attention to the 6 nations tourney, but the Rugby World Cup will be played this year in France, and you can assume that the top two teams in this year’s 6 nations will probably also be the final 8-4 teams in the cup.
So with two weeks to go… and Ireland to face off against France tomorrow, here are the current standings:
