Because their whole ‘arresting sports stars’ policy is totally different over there.
As a matter of fact, an Indian cop has been reprimanded and transferred for doing his job… he was trying to fine Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Inida’s top cricket player/ pseudo-celebrity/ hero to the masses for having illegally tinted windows. A little anal retentive? Maybe. But you can’t blame a guy for just trying to do his job.
So now instead of working the beat in the city, the Indian cop is working the streets in the middle of BFE and the suits in charge stand by their decision:
The state’s chief minister was reported as saying that celebrities should expect special treatment when it comes to the law, a widely held notion in India’s upper echelons.
“The police should be liberal while dealing with persons of his stature.”
Forget Chris Henry… they might as well relocate the entire freakin’ Cincinnati Bengals franchise to New Dehli. It would save them millions in lawyer fees and PR nightmares at the very least.
