I’m still on my hunt to club down the elusive chubacabra, but on my way I caught another rare event… the annual Duke losing streak. Now if you are follower of Duke football, losing is not just what happens every Saturday… its a way of life. But that is not the way things go on the hardcourt, and many of you might be surprised that the mighty Blue Devil basketball team has an annual tradition of a two-game losing streak.

It happened in 2004-05, 2005-06, and for those of you lucky enough to be watching tonight’s game… the annual tradition continued here in the 2006-07 season. But this one is a special losing streak as both teams who beat Duke were unranked as well as the first in-conference opponents to leave the Dukies 0-2 in conference play.

Did Coach K’s deal with the Devil expire? Will Duke’s losing streak reach new heights when they play and brawl with Miami? Will I have any more interesting things to write about now that football is just about done for?
