Otherwise known as the best mascot, which so happens to be Butch T. Cougar this year. In a playoff system which I can only imagine was determined by tequila shots and the ability to play the banjo, Washington State’s mascot won the 2006 Capital One National Mascot of the Year.
In more important news, the Cougs played an impressive game on the court tonight and beat up on Arizona State (who was no doubt thrown off by the sight of snow) 75-55… marking the sixth consecutive game that WSU has held their opponents at 55 or fewer points. The true test of their merits will be on January 20th when they play their rival Fuskies, although they could also prove a lot by playing well against number 7 Arizona this weekend. Since my first time at college the school was downright terrible at basketball, this is going to take some getting used to… winning that is.
