So far this year a parent already got tasered for arguing against a bad call like only a crackhead proud parent could. Another parent was confused for a sniper. This is just another sign that maybe I should stick to coaching at the high school level.
Over the weekend, it seems that a proud papa felt that his little wiener kid deserved a little more playing time. 20 years ago the solution was to work your child hard, make them practice and help them get better. Building character through perseverance.
Nowadays there is a shortcut: handguns. Ah yes, you know, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. But as Eddie Izzard was wise to point out, “I think the gun helps.” Well, in this case no one was killed but a dad did pull a gun on the head coach in order to win over the coach and show that his son deserves to play a little more?
If that’s not strange enough, a ref at the same game was arrested for throwing a punch at someone. I think it would be safer to be on the field at this year’s Miami-FIU fiasco then at a youth football game. See you at the U
