Barkley Wants To Be The Next Governator

July 29th, 2006 · No Comments

Always the perfect gentlemanFollowing in the footsteps of Arnold and Jesse Ventura. If I am correct, the nation celebrates these men’s political careers on a daily basis. I guess that’s why Charles Barkley wants his shot to be the next celeb/athlete to go straight into a political career with no previous experience. Doesn’t Charles know the only jobs you can get with no experience are working at McDonalds and being the GM of the New York Islanders.

Well, I guess not, so Barkley recently switched party alliance, and plans to run as governor of Alabama. The former NBA star and TNT analyst sure has some large shoes to fill:

Barkley is eyeing a job that has had more than its share of scandal, with criminal convictions against two of the last four people elected to the office. Former Gov. Don Siegelman was convicted of government corruption charges last month, and Guy Hunt was forced to step down as governor in 1993 when he was convicted of an ethics violation.

Wow, so I guess having a governor who admittedly has lost millions of dollars gambling would be a step up for these people.  Barkley in 2010!
