Barbaro, the winning horse of the Kentucy Derby, broke his leg during the early parts of the Preakness on Saturday. It was a pretty horrible injury, but initial reports after the surgery look like the horse won’t have to be put down.
If you ask me, I think he planned it all. Faced with the pressure of the Triple Crown, compared to the playboy lifestyle of being put out to stud… well, you get the idea. Good to see that the horse should make it, hats off to the surgeons and vets involved, and a slight nod to Barbaro, soon to be bachelor of the year.
