Italian Soccer Making Bud Selig Look Good

May 13th, 2006 · No Comments

What's Up With That Call? Guess You Don't Get Paid NowI am not a fan of Selig, and say what you will about him allowing steriods to become prevalent under his watchful eye, but at least the Pete Rose saga has prevented something like this: Right now Italian soccer is under investigation by iteself, as well as by local prosecutors. The entire situation seems to mainly be focused on Juventus, who’s entire board has already resigned (not typically a good sign when your board ducks out as an entire group). It seems that the team has waged a massive campaign to assure themselves victory by any means necessary, but most of the means they used tened not to be on the legal side or within moral guidelines.

The vatican responded saying that the actions, if true, are “offensive to sports… [an] offense to the joy of childhood,” and one Italian referee has been removed from the upcoming World Cup. Its nice to know that our sports aren’t the only ones filled with toubles, but its a shame too, that sport can bring the worst out of people like it so often does lately.
